“Laminate, Laminate sheet, or HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) sheet is a surface material that opens up many fascinating and surprising application possibilities for the industrial wood and interior decoration industry.”
Laminate Kingdom is a Laminate brand of An Cuong that is GreenGuard certified by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL), certifying product quality and safety for users' health. Furthermore, the Laminate Kingdom by An Cuong offers over 800 wood colors in various sizes, ranging from 0.6mm to 1.3mm, from standard types to flexible ones and post-forming kinds to chemical-resistant ones…
The history of formation began in 1986 by American scientist Leo Hendrik Baekeland. Formed from a mixture of textiles, glass fibers, and synthetic polyester resin in liquid form
1907: Bakelite mixture was synthesized from sawdust, wood fibers, and synthetic phenol resin. The original Laminates were only black & brown, used mainly in the electrical industry because of their thermal and electrical insulation properties, and were not used for decoration
1912 - 1927: 2 electronic engineers Daniel O'Conor & Herbert Faber - pioneers in establishing the Formica brand, creating and innovating Laminates into interior materials
1930s: The decorative surface of Laminate colors and patterns became a popular choice in the interior field because of its high aesthetics, practical application, superior durability & no cigarette ash. Typical examples of Laminate applications are interior designs in cafes, trains, and ships such as the RMS Queen Mary of the Queen of the United Kingdom, Elizabeth II.

The production process of HPL Laminate panels involves pressing multiple layers of kraft paper impregnated with phenolic resin under high pressure (about 1000-1400 psi) and high temperature (about 120-150°C). The decorative paper layer and Melamine coating are pressed onto the outer surface to create durability and aesthetics for the product.
03 STRUCTURAL LAYERS OF LAMINATE SHEETS:
Transparent layer on top, creating durability, protecting the surface against scratches, and waterproofing for the Laminate
A decorative paper layer printed with patterns and colors is soaked in Melamine resin and pressed under high temperature and pressure, helping the decorative film paper shape, adhere tightly, and create aesthetics for the Laminate sheet.
This is the bottom layer consisting of many layers of paper compressed at high temperature and impregnated with phenolic resin to create hardness and load-bearing capacity for the Laminate. The amount of kraft paper varies depending on the thickness and technical design requirements.
Below are the outstanding advantages of Laminate panels:
Laminate is not just an interior material but also a symbol of fashion, luxury, and superior quality. Laminate is designed to meet the highest standards of durability, aesthetics, and flexible application, providing the perfect solution for every living and working space.
Laminate panels by An Cuong are imported from India, Korea, China, and Germany. They are produced from high-quality materials and undergo strict inspection processes, ensuring high load-bearing capacity, durability, and optimal impact and abrasion resistance.
A collection of more than 800 rich colors, from monochrome, natural wood grain, imitation stone, imitation brick, concrete, metal, imitation leather, imitation metal... to creative patterns, brings flexible application in design.
Although possessing many outstanding advantages, Laminate also has some disadvantages that need to be noted before use:
When impacted strongly, the surface of the Laminate material can be cracked, scratched, and deformed when exposed to high temperatures for a long time. Some types of Laminate have good water resistance, however, if not well preserved, water can penetrate.
When damaged, Laminate is difficult to repair, loses its aesthetics, and is very expensive. When exposed to high temperatures and water regularly for a long time, the Laminate surface layer is prone to peeling.
Normally, Laminate material is more expensive than other materials.
Laminate is a popular surface material in interior decoration, especially favored for its aesthetics and high durability. Laminate Kingdom by An Cuong is a high-end product line of An Cuong, a leading company in interior materials in Vietnam. Applications of Kingdom by An Cuong Laminate include:
Kingdom Laminate by An Cuong not only meets the standards of quality and aesthetics but is also environmentally friendly, meeting strict requirements on health safety for users. With various colors, patterns, and materials, An Cuong Laminate is the optimal choice for interior projects from family to commercial.
Currently, industrial wood types such as particle board (PB), MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), HDF (High Density Fiberboard), or Plywood,... are covered with 02 Laminate surfaces to protect the inner wood core from warping due to natural physical and chemical properties and the influence of the environment.
3 notes to help protect Laminate panels:
In addition to covering 2 surfaces, industrial wood needs to be edge-glued at 04 corners to protect the edges of the surface, increase aesthetics, limit environmental impacts, and help increase the life of industrial wood.
Laminate or Melamine are popular for industrial wood surfaces because of their durability, superior aesthetics, and competitive prices. Each material line has advantages and disadvantages; therefore, we must identify the needs and preferences when choosing Melamine or Laminate materials.
