HOPEFUL SMILE – THIEN DUYEN SHELTER AND SUNFLOWER CENTER

Coming to Cu Chi, asking for Thien Duyen shelter or Sunflower Center in Ben Cat District, Binh Duong, surely, when asking the local people here, they all know. Because this place is not only to help the unfortunate life, orphans, disabled and the elderly, single helpless, but also the common house where laughter and happiness never turn off.

On September 15th, An Cuong Finished Wood Shop has just had a chance to visit the children and the elderly at these two shelters and centers. In short-term, it is not only difficult to care for the hundreds of children, but the hardship seems to be multiplied when children with cerebral palsy and disability. To do that, the volunteers here must have a great heart to overcome this difficult and hard. For the orphans, elderly coming to the center have their own circumstances: Some children were picked up in the graves, some were abandoned outside the gate of the shelter, some were abandoned by the parents themselves when they know such child was sick, some elderly has no children so they take refuge in the center, even some of them were abandoned by their children after decades of care for their children. But all that was not so important, when the children and elderly found their second home. Many elderly people who came to the shelter were also taken care of and found refuge at the end of life, many elderlies said that at this shelter, they found the joy in the middle age.

Coming to the shelter and the center, An Cuong Wood hopes that the small and practical gifts will partly relieve the pain and give more motivation to the volunteers here at the same time contribute laughter and joy to the children and elderly at the shelter.
